I don't understand after adding a single stitch how she ends up with 7 stitches instead of 6 on her needles.

"H" stitch? "A" stitch? "8" stitch? I'm not sure what I'm hearing or what it means.

OK, I got it. Use the pause // and play > on the bottom left of your screen to watch each step of the cable cast on as she does it and have your needles and yarn and follow each step. Cable cast on is like cast on 1, K 1, then slip the knit st back onto the original needle. K1, slip the stitch back to the original needle, etc. until you have 5 stitches. Then do Slip, Knit and Pearl as you usually do (hers look backward, or left-handed, but just do your usual Slip, Knit or Pearl) The rest is easy to follow along with. I watched and wrote down the instructions for each row as in a normal pattern, and then followed along while reading my pattern.

I've been knitting for years and I can't figure out what she is doing. Too bad, because I really like the flower.

Such an irritating voice , very hard to concentrate and listen to that drone sounding voice . I found her method of casting  off really complicated ,  I have used easier methods in the past. Peggy Wood
